Bike Around the Bay 2020

Friends of NASA

On October  24, the Friends of NASA team will be riding around Galveston Bay in the 14th annual Bike Around the Bay cycling event. This year's ride is an alternate ride from the traditional two day ride around Galveston Bay given the pandemic. They will be taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of the riders and volunteers throughout the event. We are riding to support the most productive bay in Texas that provides habitat for more than one-third of all threatened and endangered species, produces more oysters than any other body of water in the United States, and supports vital industries like agriculture, tourism, and more.

This informal group has been together for this ride for several years now and has been one of the top ten fund raisers for GBF. We would love for you to join and the only requirement is that you are a friend of NASA. With the NASA Johnson Space Center located very near the Galveston Bay and has used this waterway over the years to support its mission, it is a natural part of this activity. No fancy swag but you will be part of a great group.

Did you know that half the population of Texas lives within the Galveston Bay watershed? You can help make a difference in preserving and protecting the Bay right in our own backyards by making a tax-deductible donation to our team's ride. Your contribution will support the Galveston Bay Foundation which works with all Bay users to preserve the beauty, tranquility, and health of Galveston Bay. Every tax deductible donation, no matter the amount, helps create a better bay with all of it staying here local to make a difference!
