YES! I'm doing this!
Hi everyone. My name is André. I’m 44 years old, husband, dad, vet, and a college professor. On October 20-21, 2018, I will be doing something crazy, contributing to something bigger than myself, riding around Galveston Bay in the 12th annual Bike Around the Bay cycling event.
I am riding to support the largest and most productive bay in Texas. I not only live near the bay, in Sugar Land, TX, I also catch fish to eat from the bay and it’s bayous. I also kayak it’s waters. Galveston Bay provides amazing recreational and tourism opportunities like boating, fishing and bird watching while also supporting an important commercial fishing industry that puts Galveston Bay shrimp, oysters and blue crab on our dinner plates.
You can help make a difference in preserving and protecting the Bay right in our own backyards by making a tax-deductible donation to my ride. Your contribution will support the Galveston Bay Foundation which works with all Bay users to preserve the beauty, tranquility, and health of Galveston Bay. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps create a better Bay!
