I'm registered for my 1st cycling event, but I need your help! -George Moreno
On November 5th, 2017 I made a decision to get off my butt and make a change in my life for the better. I have learned a lot about myself these past months. I have pushed myself hard and have looked for new ways to challenge myself. I’ve always felt more determined when my back is against the wall... so I’ve decided to register for a 2 day 170 mile cycling event! This will be my 1st cycling event ever. I figured since I’ve done 2 half marathons over the Fred Hartman Bridge, it would be cool to also say that I biked over it as well! As amazing (and painful) my new journey sounds, I can’t do it alone. I need your help! In order for me to ride, I must meet a goal of $250 in donations towards the Galveston Bay Foundation. So here are the details:
On October 20-21, 2018, I will be riding around Galveston Bay in the 12th annual Bike Around the Bay cycling event. I am riding to support the largest and most productive bay in Texas. Galveston Bay provides amazing recreational and tourism opportunities like boating, fishing and bird watching while also supporting an important commercial fishing industry that puts Galveston Bay shrimp, oysters and blue crab on our dinner plates.
You can help make a difference in preserving and protecting the Bay right in our own backyards by making a tax-deductible donation to my ride. Your contribution will support the Galveston Bay Foundation which works with all Bay users to preserve the beauty, tranquility, and health of Galveston Bay. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps create a better Bay!
