Welcome to Greg Blackburn's Personal Page for Bike Around the Bay!
On Saturday, October 24, I will be participating in a one day bike ride sponsored by the Galveston Bay Foundation. This is an alternate ride from the traditional two day ride around Galveston Bay given the pandemic. They will be taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of the riders and volunteers throughout the event. Bike Around the Bay showcases the natural beauty of Galveston Bay and raises awareness of the need to protect it. You can help support my ride and the work of the Galveston Bay Foundation by donating today. Every donation makes a difference and ALL money stays local!
If you are interesting in riding, I am again leading the "Friends of NASA" team for this ride. This informal group has been together for this ride for several years now and has been one of the top ten fund raisers for GBF. We would love for you to join and the only requirement is that you are a friend of NASA. With the NASA Johnson Space Center located very near the Galveston Bay and has used this waterway over the years to support its mission, it is a natural part of this activity. No fancy swag but you will be part of a great group.
About the Galveston Bay Foundation
The Galveston Bay Foundation is a conservation nonprofit that has served as guardian of Galveston Bay since 1987. Its mission is to preserve and enhance Galveston Bay as a healthy and productive place for generations to come.
Your tax-deductible contribution to Bike Around the Bay will help to restore oyster reefs and wetlands, provide environmental education to thousands of students, improve water quality, and protect vital habitat in and around Galveston Bay.
Thank you for supporting my ride and the future of Galveston Bay!!
